Happiness is Rose Colored Glasses

Happiness is Rose colored glasses

Happiness is a pair of rose-colored glasses. The phrase quickly elicits visions of denial in a world of harsh realities we’d rather not see. But if used in a creative manner, rose-colored glasses are beneficial.

The rose-colored glasses of Gratitude help keep focus on the good in our day rather than the bad.

New challenges are a good reason for me to get out my Gratitude Journal. Especially when time is short and the deadlines threaten sanity. Or self-doubt creeps in with the mind hammering reminders of self-limiting factors and past failures.

My gratitude list is a quick reminder that fearful, faux threats can be replaced with God’s goodness. Faith renewed in His ever-present grace and guidance. I once again trust His faithfulness that reaches to the sky.

Now my rose-colored glasses lead to a reality beyond my human limitations. And hope for reaching a new goal with achievement on the horizon.

God promises a future filled with hope—a ready replacement for despair.

When discouragement knocks at the door, my rose-colored glasses of gratitude remind me that God is large and in charge. A constant reminder that I can do nothing without Him. God will provide the guidance while I follow His promises and put the work in required to make those grandiose goals a reality.

Quote for Today

“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.”—Henry David Throreau

Scripture for Today

“For Your faithfulness and lovingkindness are great, reaching to the heavens,
And Your truth to the clouds”
(Psalm 57:10 AMP).

“Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why have you become restless and disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God” (Psalm 42:11 AMP).

Prayer for You Today

Father, I lift up those who are struggling with seemingly unreachable deadlines, goals or problems. Or perhaps a calling placed on your servant’s heart. We know that we can do nothing without your help. Take up the burdens they carry and replace them with the good things you provide. Grant peace, patience and joy for the day. Amen.

If you struggle with depression gratitude is a proven path to greater joy. Get my Gratitude Journal.
