So how do you enjoy a windy day? Fly a kite, of course. That’s what my family recently did on a windy day.

Looking back, I had never been successful flying a kites. The approach I had as a child was to run and run some more. After three or four attempts I was winded and done for the day.

My husband was able to show me how effortless flying a kite can be. Once the wind current caught the kite, we watched as it flew higher and higher. Corrections were easily made with a gentle tug on the string. As I applied a few simple principles, I was able to fly my kite high above the green pasture. I didn’t even have to run.

Similarly, I can overthink and complicate problems and issues.

I can simplify my problem if I can:
  • ask God for help
  • let go and let God
  • rest on the air currents of the Holy Spirit
  • trust that God has my solution
  • enjoy the view from above

Other things I can do to simplify life is to be careful not to allow my plate get too full with things that keep me busy, busy, busy. I have begun to enjoy keeping life simple.

Scripture

Isaiah 40:31 New International Version (NIV)
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Today’s Glory

Come to the garden of My presence, My Beloved. Allow My Holy Spirit wind to scatter your cares. As you let go of each care, feel My touch as I carry you along on the wind current. Allow Me to carry you this day. Fly above your cares and concerns as I carry you in the clouds. Praise Me and allow My joy and peace to embellish your day.
