Happiness is National Pink Day

Friday, June 23 is National Pink Day. What a great day to wear those rose-colored glasses that colors all things a rosy pink. And what a great color to celebrate.

Historically, in the 1700’s, pink was fashionable for men. But then my husband has a nice pink shirt too. Then in 1940’s baby colors popped as pink for girls and blue for boys. History can change lots of things including fashion statements.

Pink symbolizes universal love, including self-love. And the pink rose symbolizes joy, appreciation and admiration. Maybe you’ll get a pink rose on Friday. 😉

For me, rose colored-glasses and pink flowers serve up special hues in the garden. Who doesn’t like a pink flower: petunia, rose, purslane, or other pink petaled blooms to brighten the day? Can we ever get enough of beautiful pink blooms? Maybe more pink needs to be planted next year.The Bible calls Jesus is the Rose of Sharon. And if my imagination serves me right, it’s flowers are pink.
