Psalm 16:8 (NIV)                                                                                                                                                            8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Jeremiah 29:11 (TLB)
11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Welcoming change in my life. Is that possible? Change is inevitable! Even so I resist change, even if a change would benefit me. Somehow the status quo is comfortable, even if it may not be beneficial.

There have been some instances where change was needed in my life, and God allowed me to hang on to my bad experiences until change had to happen. Initially, I felt the rug had been pulled out from under me, but as I trusted the path ahead to God, it became evident He was leading me all the while to better things. What looked like failure, doom and certain destruction, turned into a blessing. God knows better than I what is good for me and most beneficial.

Letting go of the negativity of past experiences, and allowing myself to be guided by God’s ever faithful hand makes change easier. Allowing myself the opportunity to learn from my mistakes without punishing myself or berating myself also facilitates the change as well. I can welcome the good changes God has in the path ahead. I can take one day at a time and take the current of change slowly, be patient with myself and relax into new circumstances!

Quote for the Day                                                                                                                                                                  “We can’t be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don’t have something better.”
