The view from the porch as I drink coffee

The season has arrived for front porch sitting and coffee sipping. As the day progresses I switch to iced tea. Sounds like a southern invitation as I head out the door.

The front porch is the perfect place to gather my morning thoughts. I can wake up with a cup of coffee in one hand and my Bible in the other.

The front porch welcomes me with views of cheery flowers. Lavender is in full bloom, along with Stella de Oro. The zinnia and cosmos seeds I planted are coming up. (I actually planted them this year). Peace and joy fill the garden.

Yes, starting my day on my front porch in the presence of the Lord is a great way to begin my day. As I empty my coffee cup, God fills my spiritual cup to overflowing. I feel refreshed and ready for the day.

Problems Arise

As the day wears on I can spill coffee all over the front of work clothes. Similarly I can slosh out grace, or joy in a fit of impatience. Thankfully Jesus is present tor refill my cup with rivers of living water to restore me once again with peace and joy.

What is your need today? Is your cup empty? Perhaps it just needs topping off. Let the Lord fill your cup with joy, grace, peace, and strength, or contentment… Fill in the blank as you pray. Be blessed in the garden, my friend.

Psalm 23:5 New King James Version (NKJV)
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.

Psalm 16:5 New King James Version (NKJV)
5 O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You [a]maintain my lot.

Today’s Glory

My Beloved, come to the garden of My Presence. I will fill your cup to overflowing. Let me quench your thirst so you will never thirst again. Come frequently to drink from my rivers of living water. Walk with me in the stillness of the garden. Praise my touch throughout your day.
