Prayer, praise and gratitude have the power to change things—often they change us. When we pray, we enter God’s presence and into his heavenly sphere of reality where impossibilities can and do happen.

 Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:14-21 NKJV).

Quotes

“The wonderful thing about praying is that you leave a world of not being able to do something, and enter God’s realm where everything is possible. He specializes in the impossible. Nothing is too great for His almighty power. Nothing is too small for His love. ~Corrie Ten Boom

“Prayer is where the action is.”~Jphn Wesley

“Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?”~Corrie ten Boom

“And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months” (James 15:5-7 NKJV).

Jesus:

prioritized prayer as a vital necessity, and went to quiet places to be alone with the Father.

In Hebrews 7:25 He lives to make intercession for us.

Many of us have the gift of intercession.

Maybe you have a prayer closet, or a special place your go. Our heavy hearts cry to God in desperation.

Benefits of Prayer:

  • Change within us begins when we relinquish our will and SURRENDER to God’s will. His ways and direction are much better than our limited ideas of what can be.
  • Often, circumstances spiral out of control and God may be the only one we can share our hearts with.
  • When we pray, the God who created us embraces us in His loving presence.
  • We connect and enter into God’s presence and peace.
  • We learn to trust him as he answers our prayers time and again
  • Our faith grows
  • He promises to Guide us: Proverbs 3:5 NKJV Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
    And lean not on your own understanding;
  • God draws near to us when we draw near to him.

Pray without Ceasing

“Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18 AMP).

Corporate Prayer

“Again, I tell you, if two of you on earth agree harmonize together, make a symphony together about whatever anything and everything they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:19AMPC).

Prayer is simple communication with the God who created us and loves us. How delighted He must be when we enter into conversation with Him. And what a priviledge to share our thoughts, griefs, and burdens with our loving Father.
