The power of gratitude may be an untapped resource in your life. A thankful heart has the power to change our attitude.

Gratitude is the state of being thankful. But when the surrounding world is full of stress, demands, responsibility and loss, gratitude may the last thing that comes to mind.

And why is gratitude important? Developing an attitude of gratitude can turn an overwhelming situation into a tolerable even a joyful experience. Attitude is everything. Gratitude can help us develop a positive attitude in our approach to life.

A negative attitude focuses on circumstances beyond control and notices the bad. Bad things add up and pretty soon depression sets in.

Instead, we can let go of the bad thoughts and deliberately replace them with a good thought. Perhaps you focus on the negative. That’s okay. Many of us grew up that way (myself included). Change takes time. And daily practice helps us focus on the good God supplies.

Give Gratitude a Try

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV).

Gratitude Quotes

“A grateful mind is a great mind which eventually attracts to itself great things.”

~PLATO

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. It turns problems into gifts, failures into successes, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. It can turn an existence into a real life, and disconnected situations into important and beneficial lessons. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Gratitude makes things right.” ~ Melody Beattie

~MELODY bEATTIE

“It is important to realize that you are living inside one of your answered prayers while you wait for your next answer. There is always room for gratitude.”~Mother Teresa

~MOTHER TERESA
