The October temperatures and the fall breeze are welcome changes. The grass has changed to gold and the air hints of fall. The trees continue green with a touch of yellow. Those are the colors today in Northeastern Oklahoma.

The cooler temperatures beckon for a bike ride, or even an afternoon walk vs an early morning stroll to avoid the heat.

And the sunrise is later while the sunset is early.

Change is in the air. A welcome change.

I’m grateful as I pedal my bike down the path. Surprised that my pace tops my last average speed. The cool breeze refreshing. Energizing. Add to that praise tunes streaming into my ears.

A bicycle ride is always my favorite outdoor activity. And better yet with leaves blowing on the path. The challenge is always to keep my speed above fourteen miles and hour. Or to be sure I’m ahead of my husband. LOL.

Seriously, it’s not a race.

Butterflies flutter. My count is five. Wondering about the Monarch’s path this year. Will they grace the Oklahoma plains once again in route to Mexico?

Yes! October means the temperatures are moderated.

Maybe a hike at a nearby State Park before the weather gets too cold. Or a camp out with an inviting fire in the cool of the evening.

What are your outdoor plans to enjoy the fall colors and the temperate breeze?

Whatever your choice, enjoy the October scenes as they change daily.

Scripture for the Day

“To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 KJ21).

Prayer for the Day

Father, I pray for those who need a breath of fresh air. A new fresh change. A reprieve from the heat, or the fires that rage in the west, and the after-affects of hurricanes. Lord, we depend on you from the rising of the sun to it’s setting. And the change of the season. Let rain come in due season and relieve drought. May we enjoy the season you give us now. Thank you for your blessings great and small. Amen.
