The Lord Bless You and Keep You

The Lord bless you, and keep you protect you, sustain you, and guard you; the Lord make His face shine upon you with favor, and be gracious to you surrounding you with lovingkindness; the Lord lift up His countenance face upon you with divine approval, and give you peace a tranquil heart and life (Number 6:24-26 AMP).

What a beautiful blessing to receive. I really like Kari Jobe’s version. You can find it on YouTube. I’m listening as I write. The song and the scripture bring joy to my heart as He gives us His light and love that pour down from His heart into our broken humanity.

The blessing from Numbers is what God told Moses to tell the Israelites. Roman Catholics use it as a blessing or benediction at the end of mass.

It is an awesome blessing to have God’s protection through the day, guarding you. And then His face shining upon you. His magnificent presence that He delights in sharing with us, His children. He gives us divine peace and a tranquil heart.

God is good.

Mankind depends on God’s touch daily.

And today is Ash Wednesday. This is the day that many Christian denominations begin the Season of Lent.

The observance commemorates Christ’s forty days of temptation in the wilderness. During the Ash Wednesday service each believer receives a cross on his forehead symbolizing faith in Christ. The Lenten Season is a time for Christians to repent and focus on Jesus.

Getting back the blessing…May this Season of Lent bring you closer to the God who created you and to Christ the Lover of your soul. Amen.
