The grip of winter continues. This week in Oklahoma we have experienced snow, and frosty temperatures below freezing. March has definitely come in like a lion. The cold seems endless.
Due to the prolonged cold, there is restless anticipation for a warming trend. Anticipation is pleasurable excitement of something to come: like spring. Who isn’t impatient for warmer weather?
As I attempt to embrace my previous post of Winter Rest, I notice a restlessness in the frozen earth. The buds on the trees are swelling, waiting for the next warm day to burst forth with new growth. Flowering bulbs are emerging through the snow. The days are getting longer. The season of Lent has begun, along with the promise of Easter.
A warm, sunshiny day in the midst of the frozen blast warms our hearts. The high of 48 now feels like a heat wave. I may have to bundle up, get out in the frozen garden and get the flower beds prepared. Spring quickly approaches. I want to be ready.
Bible Verse
Psalm 42:5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5 Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why have you become restless and disturbed within me?
Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall again praise Him
For the help of His presence
Today’s Glory
My Beloved, come to me with praise in your heart. This is the day that I have made. Rest in preparation for the work ahead. Come with anticipation for all that I will do. Look closely at the swelling buds on the frozen plants. I am tending them carefully to bring them into full bloom and complete maturity, just as I am tending your heart. Come and abide in Me, more closely today than yesterday. I am drawing you into closer fellowship, more today than yesterday. Desire more of Me in the Garden of my Presence. Desire more of Me and my Kingdom.
