The first day of Christmas our hearts rejoice and burst with joy. The Partridge in a Pear Tree has come to earth from heaven at last. The Christ Child in the manger, our Savior cached.
The law of sin and death repealed. His righteousness reigns in the human heart. Our King for evermore.
His light shines forth in the darkest night. He seeks the sinner lost. The crimson stain no more found. He makes each white as snow.
The Partridge in a Pear the first day of Christmas brings. Joy to the world and peace at last. Ring the bells and sing His praise. Joyful hearts adore the King.
The Christmas Carol
The popular Christmas carol, The Twelve Days of Christmas, is filled with rich symbolism and hidden meaning. The Twelve days of Christmas celebrate the Epiphany. The period of time between Christ’s birth, December 25, to the arrival of the wisemen on January 6. Today’s poem is about the first day of Christmas.
The first gift given from the true love, is the partridge in a pear tree, which is Christ. The significance of the partridge is that it will fight to the death for it’s offspring. A reminder that our Savior went to the cross and died for us. What a wonderful gift.
Scripture for Today
“Come now, and let us reason together,” saith the Lord. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18 NKJV).
