The fourth gift of the Advent Season is love.

Love personified in a baby. Jesus.

Welcomed by shepherds who received a special angel invitation, sending them on a heavenly mission to greet the Messiah. They leave their flocks in the field, rushing to see the newborn.

Awe inspired. The precious heaven-sent gift wrapped in the innocence: a perfect infant boy.

The shepherds hearts filled with awe.

Just think. The baby before them was indeed the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Lamb without blemish at birth and beyond.

The shepherds adore the newness of life. A precious baby. The Giver of Life.

What questions did the shepherds hold in their hearts as they gave witness to the baby, Son of God?

Christ coming to earth. The manifest of hope, peace, joy and yes, love.

Wouldn’t it be incredible to be in the shepherd’s sandals and be invited to see the baby Jesus?

And yet each of us is invited to share in His birth, life and resurrection.

Oh come, Let us adore Him

Invite the Holy Child of Mary, Jesus, the Son of God into your heart. May His love, joy, peace and hope reign afresh this Christmas.

Scripture for Today

“For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given;
And the government shall be upon His shoulder,
And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”
(Isaiah 9-6 AMP).

Prayer for Today

Father, we ask that you would manifest your gifts of peace, joy, hope and love into our dark world. Many individuals at this time experience grief and heaviness due to loss of loved ones or other hardships. May you meet each one with the special gift of your loving kindness and presence. Amen.
