Psalms 31:24 (AMP) Be strong and let your hearts take courage,                                                                             All you who wait for and confidently expect the Lord.

Recently I had the opportunity to wait on the Lord. Initially I spent a great deal of time grieving over some unpleasant experiences from a previous job.  My career had taken unexpected turns, and because of high stress levels I had considered leaving a vocation from which I have several years of experience, as well as a great deal of education. I was in desperate need of direction from the Lord.

My Sunday school group was studying Acts, and I read about how the Apostles waited for the Lord in prayer. I was not waiting prayerfully. As I considered changing my anxious foreboding into hopeful prayer, I wrote a previous blog entitled What are You Waiting For?

Waiting in prayer did change my perspective. I started to consider jobs that I was sure would be a stressful as my previous job. I started trusting God, and taking one day at a time. As I waited, I experienced the joy, peace and presence  of the Lord, even in my crisis of job hunting.

As my faith increased, I experienced several benefits of waiting on the Lord, all of which I had outlined in my blog. I was able to let go of the negativity that my last job had inflicted, as well as all the pain. Perhaps my primary career choice should not be thrown by the wayside because of some bad experiences. Perhaps God, in His wisdom and faithfulness could guide me to a greener pasture.

And that is exactly what God did! My current job is closer to my home, not nearly as stressful, and I’m making more money! Waiting on God produced results I never would have thought possible. God is faithful!

Ephesians 3:20-21 ASV Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen.

Quote for the Day                                                                                                                                                           “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”                                                                                                                                                                 Corrie Ten Boom

Today’s Glory                                                                                                                                                                My Beloved;                                                                                                                                                                  Waiting on Me and My timing will always produce an abundance of fruit. As you wait in my presence and let go of fear and foreboding of the future, you avail yourself to molding and unseen guidance by My hand.

Bearing fruit takes time that your carnal mind desires to rush. Wait in expectation through the chill of winter, the pain of pruning, the nurture of the growing season and finally to the fullness of harvest.  Wait in expectation for the fruition of my plan. Wait in patience, expectation and prayer.
