Seasons of Change

Seasons of Change

Seasons of change come with weather changes as the sun changes proximity to the earth. Spring has arrive, but in our region the temperatures remain are below normal. The parade of spring with perenial blossoms seem to lag behind.

And sometimes the seasons of  our life bring change. Sometimes the change is welcome. Then in some instances subtle signs give warning. But more often the topsy turvy bounce on the path is a surprise with little warning taking us off guard. A huge caution sign with the pending turnabout might benefit. But that’s seldom provided.

How can we prepare for seasons of change? Or is preparation necessary?

Prayer can provide a place to go when the change is abrupt. And God always invites us to come to Him when situations are beyond our realm of control.

Often when confronted with choices, like the next step. Prayer is certainly my priority.

Changes in the arena of work have forced change. In the post-COVID pandemic the hospital where I work are changing the way they do business. Cutbacks to save money result in less hours where I work.

Adjustment and change are necessary. And God is always faithful.

The Serenity Prayer is a favorite prayer when I need comfort and help. The divine prayer reminds me God is in control, and my job is to let go and let Him. But I still have work to do. If there is any changing to be done I can ask for His help.

Prayer for You Today

includes the entire Serenity  Prayer, not just the common shortened version of the first two sentences which are used in AA and 12 Step Meetings.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right If I surrender to His Will; So that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever and ever in the next. Amen.”prayer attributed to Reinhold Neibuhr, 1892-1971.

Are you facing change? God grant you serenity and courage today.

Scripture for You Today

Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of the doves is heard in our land” (Song of Songs 2:12 NIV).
