Long haulers are individuals who suffer long term effects from COVID-19. AKA Long COVID.

Definitions of Long COVID vary. Some publications site over 30 days, or others over twelve weeks.

At any rate those who suffer with symptoms are oblivious to statics. They only know that life has changed. Health declined. And hope for a return to previous health and activity. Desperate for help.

Research continues and much remains to be learned.

Long haulers may have persistent symptoms of exhaustion similar to chronic fatigue syndrome. Or Muscle weakness and poor tolerance to activity, tiring easily. Shortness of breath, loss of smell and taste, lingering brain fog, rapid heart rate, and more are symptoms may persist. Symptoms may be debilitating. Even for previously healthy young people.

Self-care is important. Get plenty of sleep. Eat healthy. The Mediterranean Diet may be beneficial. See your primary care physician for these lingering symptoms.

COVID-19 numbers increase. As will those suffering with Long COVID. Prayerfully and hopefully effective treatments will be found for those affected.

Prayer for Today

Father, we lift up those who are suffering from COVID and Long COVID. We ask for effective treatments for all concerned. Please provide wisdom and guidance to leaders and medical teams as they labor in this area. Strengthen and heal those who are sick. And protect front line workers exhausted from long, difficult shifts. Our hope is in you alone. Amen.

Scripture for Today

For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him,
For my hope is from Him
” (Psalm 62:5 AMP).
