Our lives are the sum of cumulative experiences. But without God’s touch of grace woven in specific seconds and moments, the tangle of time would take a toll on our fragile existence.

God’s Grace at the Right Moment

God’s gracious intervention occurs even before we are aware. The still small voice that leads us down the right path.Or a timely detour that may have kept us safe. And gratefully, the timely answer to a desperate prayer that orchestrates circumstances in a perfect order for that perfect result.

But the woven pattern takes shape best in hindsight. We recognize God’s care as we reminisce about difficult storms that brought a hoped-for triumph. Or perhaps an unknowing messenger verbalizes exactly what we needed to hear. And the unexpected blessing that seems to drop into our lap.

God also reminds us of His boundless love when we make a mistake or hurt another person dear to us in a moment of frustration or flash of anger. (Certainly, a biologic interference we had no control over—or so it seems). Yet we do. He is faithful to forgive us in those instances when we humbly ask. And personally, I’m grateful when people forgive me as well.

Practice not perfection is a phrase that helps dispel guilt. And with the grace of God and His help, we can ask for the power to rise above those weaknesses and imperfections that make us human.

Scripture for Today

“So, we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding” (Ephesians 1:6-8 NLT).
