“Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power that is at work within us,to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21 AMP).

God’s power is working in us continually to carry out His purpose. Wow, do you believe that magnanimous prayer that Paul wrote to the Ephesians and to us? A genuine power packed prayer.

Certainly God functions on a level beyond my imagination. His ways are high above mine.

Do you pray like that? Or have faith to contain all that?

Recently I got a new job. Yes, I prayed for a job, but got far beyond all imagined.

The job itself is such a blessing. The work is rewarding, in the nursing field, and to top things off my coworkers are wonderful, respectful individuals. We work as a team.

In many respects all those qualities may not exist in a job. In previous jobs respect and team work were often missing variables. And historically nurses lack respect for one another’s gifting. Often expectations of someone new or a new graduate seem unattainable. Nurture of the young or new nurse absent.

My hope is that those unfortunate tendencies in nursing are being replaced so that places of employment can boast of a kind, nurturing and empowering culture for all.

God’s Power

Now back to that audacious prayer that Paul wrote…

Yes, God is able to do super abundantly beyond all that we can ask or think in this hurting world of ours. Many are hurting, broken and searching for truth and meaning. May God through His limitless power use us to reach each need to His Glory. Amen.

What are you praying for?
