finding delight in the vineyard
A gift on the way

God’s gifts abound all around us. Sometimes, when frustration arises, my view is skewed and those gifts go unnoticed.

I was given a reminder last week at a caregiver support meeting I lead. One caregiver initially shared that her new word for the year was awe, and she went on to tell me how God had awed her during her career.

Then she shared that she was counting the gifts God gave her during her day. My first thought, What a nice upgrade to a my familiar gratitude list. I liked the fresh spin.

Then, looking back over the last few days, I recalled the best encounter ever experienced with a tech support person regarding my blog website. A true source of frustration over the last couple of years.

Although I paid for a new look to my website, some elements weren’t looking right. Perhaps you noticed. Along with several other issues tech support previously patched but never resolved. Ugh.

Last week in my frustration I called for support again. God put me through to the right person who fixed all of my problems, past and present. What an awesome gift.

Then, I experience more frustration this week with a new book about to be completed, except for the formating. After working on the piece for several weeks, my attempt to upload it did not work as expected. Ugh.

Frustration turned to mild depression since my knowhow stretched to the limit.

Then God’s Gift Came:

He gave me just the verse I needed:

“Teach me Your way, O Lord, I will walk and live in Your truth; Direct my heart to fear Your name with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder” (Psalm 86:11 AMP).

My old familiar habit to worry just a little and forget that God had my answer over came me. Instead of letting go and letting God, I was gripping my limited experience and not inviting Him to help me.

I also thought it was awe-inspiring that the verse contained the word awe.

I’m still formating, but know my answer is on the way.

What’s on your awe-inspiring gift today?
