God’s promises to give us the desires of our hearts. But sometimes we have to wait. The difficult reminder I hate to hear “God’s timing is always right.” My strategy is to put those things on the shelf and go on with the next thing so I don’t obsess about God’s timing.
On a personal note, my desire to speak and teach never seemed to materialize. Then out of God’s treasure trove from heaven opportunity arises.
I get to teach from my book, Jumping Hurdles to Writing Success during spring class at my church. Twelve weeks of encouraging new writers on pitfalls authors most commonly experience. Such as, The Hurdle of the Imposter Syndrome, or The Hurdle of not Starting.
A new opportunity with new growth and certainly an answer to prayer.
Then God dropped another gift on my plate. Our church is hosting a women’s conference, and I was asked to lead a breakout session on my other book, Coping Skills for Caregivers.
God awed me again.
The wait has been long. But God is ever vigilant. Maybe He needed to prepare me, build relationships and place the stepping stones in just the right place.
And as always, His timing was great. But we knew that. My schedule at work has been slow, which gives me plenty of time to get the details in order.
How about you? Please share the gifts God is placing in your path.
Quote for the Day
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them. —Henry David Thoreau
Scripture for the Day
“Every good gift and every perfect free, large, full gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation rising or setting or shadow cast by His turning as in an eclipse“
(James 1:17 AMP).
Prayer for You Today
Child of God,
I pray that you would hold God’s promises close to your heart, and know He has not forgotten you. You are precious in His sight, and He is perfecting all that concerns you. Amen.
