elevated gratitude I get to

Elevated gratitude puts a new spin on a thankful attitude.

Recently I read a post by Carol McLeod of Carol McLoed Ministries. She wrote about the phrase get to. One of her specific get to actitivities was “getting to walk in 100-degree weather”, along with other activities encountered during her day.

The truth in life is that we all face things during our day we’d rather not do.

I laughed as I read her post, and thought, if she can walk in 100-degree weather, so can I. My attitude toward exercising in the heat changed immediately.

What a great way to tackle the all the difficulties encountered during the day. I adopted Carol’s mental exercise and told my husband about it. We both laugh when we get to do all those special things. Steve’s goes out the door saying, “I get to go to work today.” Ha ha.

The phrase puts a smile on my face, and cancels the negativity that crops up. I get to, tips the mental scale back to the positive and gives me a giddy, internal giggle and I think about Carol McLeod.

Here I go…I get to

clean house a bit today.

go to the store.

finish this blog. (But I want to do that).

Then I can expand my gratitude into this is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. Amen.

And today I get to go for a walk in the rain cooled temperatures despite my hesitation due to lactic acid build up in sore muscles from yesterday’s bicycle ride. 😊

Prayer for You Today

Beloved of God,

I pray that joy would fill your heart as you tackle difficulties encountered today. May God give you a joyful heart and the energy needed throughout this day He has made for you. Amen.

Scripture for Today

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24 NLT).
