The earth is being renewed and clothed in the beauty of spring. God’s handiwork is evident as the flowers continue to unfold. Cold nights give way to longer, warmer days.
The sun’s warmth in turn causes the Red buds to burst against a back drop of unfurling new leaves. Tulips and creeping flocks adorn the ground. Spring’s beauty is all around.
Just as God’s hand is at work in the garden, His amazing grace is at work in His beloved saints. First we must receive Christ into our hearts. Next we continually surrender a willing heart to the Holy Spirit and trust His transforming power.
Spring and Lent coincide in transforming beauty. Lent is a time of willingness to let go of things that do not glorify God in our lives. Righteousness in God’s eyes is unattainable in our own efforts. Righteousness is nothing short of a miracle that God imparts to us through His life changing grace.
Lent is a time of grateful praise when God is able to work His likeness into our frail humanity. Lent is a time for the spiritual self to be transformed. I like being clothed in the new as I let go of the old. I can be clothed in the image of Christ through God’s transforming grace.
Scripture
1 Corinthians 6:20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
20 You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.
Colossians 3:10-12 Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 and have put on the new [spiritual] self who is being continually renewed in true knowledge in the image of Him who created the new self— 11 a renewal in which there is no [distinction between] Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, [nor between nations whether] [a]barbarian or [b]Scythian, [nor in status whether] slave or free, but Christ is all, and in all [so believers are equal in Christ, without distinction].
12 So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper];
Today’s Glory
Come to the Garden of My Presence my Beloved. Spring is a time of renewal in the earth. As you come to the Garden of My Presence, I am faithful to transform you into My likeness. You, my Beloved are no longer your own. You were bought with a price through the Precious Blood of the Lamb.
