Blossoms unfold in the garden. I love watching the process.
The Dogwood planted two years adds delicate new leaves and branches daily.
Petunias bloom with colorful cheer in bright sunlight. And Impatience contend in the shade beside hydrangeas with perfect symmetry.
The birds feast on sunflower seeds. The gold finches fly in from a nearby nest. A painted bunting lands only to be edged out by an aggressive Cardinal.
What a privilege to watch the beauty unfold. Simple. Continuous. Miraculous.
Yet our nation seems to be imploding from within. Dark clouds of hate linger in cities. Destruction from rioters leave sorrow and unbelief in the bystander heart. We remember a strong peaceful, kind America. May the memory become reality once again.
May hearts unfold like flowers today before God. Let hearts seek you and find you. May Christians stand in unified prayer for our nation.
God’s Whisper
My Beloved, enter into the Garden of My Presence today. Fresh blooms await your arrival. The beauty unfolds today for you and all who enter.Take my peace and comfort. Rest in My All-Consuming Presence. I am an Oasis for you in the dry desert of the harsh world. A shelter in the storm.Trust Me with all of your concerns and dreams. Praise Me in the Garden like a fragrant blossom. Bask in the light of My Loving Presence.
Pray for America as long held values and the founding fabric erode. Your prayers are might to the pulling down of strongholds.
Prayer for Today
Father, the outside world is full of chaos seems to increase daily. Covid-19. Rioting in cities. News images seems odd and out of place for America, land that we love. We pray for peace within our boarders and implore that justice would prevail for all. Father, soften hearts to receive your love and healing in a sweeping revival across our great country. Heal our land and protect us from dark unseen practicalities and powers. Forgive us when we fail, and strengthen us for the days ahead. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Scripture for Today
“My beloved is to me a cluster of henna flowers
In the [fragrant] vineyards of [a]Engedi.” (Song of Solomon 1:14).
“It will blossom abundantly
And rejoice with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
The majesty of [Mount] Carmel and [the plain] of Sharon.
They will see the glory of the Lord,
The majesty and splendor of our God.
Encourage the exhausted, and make staggering knees firm.
Say to those with an anxious and panic-stricken heart,
“Be strong, fear not!
Indeed, your God will come with vengeance [for the ungodly];
The retribution of God will come,
But He will save you.” (Isaiah 35:1-4).
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds,” (2 Corinthians 10:4)
