Self-care is the priority for the day. The weather outside is cloudy and overcast. Add to that nurses notes from being on call and working the weekend. Ugh.

How about a fire to warm the house? The wood glows red and the flames leap in orange hues safely contained in the wood stove. Hot coffee. Err coffee with my milk to warm my drowsy insides.

Oh, and a legal treat for breakfast much like an oatmeal cookie, only in a bowl and porridge style complete with a touch of brown sugar.

Top that off with a Psalm to warm my soul.

Yes, and self-care includes Lilly the cat purring on my lap.

I’d say it’s going to be a good day.

What does a self-care day look like for you?

Scripture for Today

“Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by worrying can add one [l]hour to [the length of] his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin [wool to make clothing], 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these.” (Matthew 6:25-29 AMP).

God’s Whisper

My Beloved,

This is the day that I have made, rejoice in Me and be glad. Linger by the fire and relish My Sweet Presence. Rest.

Be still and know that I am God. Know me in the stillness of the day. My time with you is precious.

Come to the Garden with expectation as I fill your cup to overflowing.

What are you needing, My Beloved? bring all of your requests before me and lay them at the foot of the cross. Name each one.

Yes, I know each need before you ask. Your asking and prayer signifies dependence and trust on Me, the lover of your soul.

Let my words form with your ready pen and open heart.

Be filled with praise because I AM. Know in your heart that my love for you is boundless. Walk with me today in the Garden of My Presence and Provision.

Love, The Father
