Just a closer walk with thee—Grant it Lord, this my plea. A simple prayer to the one who loves to walk with us. Always. Afterall, He promises to be a lamp unto our feet on this life long journey. And to make our feet like hinds feet so we can successfully scale the high places of testing and trouble.
Yes. God walks with us and talks with us.
And sometimes we desperately need him to help us take the next step. We turn to Him in faith, trusting that His way is better than our own.
“The God who girds me with strength and makes my way perfect” (Psalm 18:32).
But where will the next step lead? God knows the best way on the journey ahead. We can ask for His direction, and He is faithful to answer.
Then He promises that our feet will not slip when we traverse difficult terrain. In Psalm 18, we are reminded that He gives plenty of room for our steps under us that our feet will not slip.
A closer walk with God is our chance to let go of our will and embrace His will. And as we walk with Him we also abide in Him and He in us.
The next step taken in faith may provide the answer to a prayer from long ago. The hope held close now taking shape before our eyes.
Gratefully, as we take the next step of faith we can release our bundle of cares into his loving arms. Trusting that He will take care of those burdens and bring resolve and positive outcomes.

“A man’s mind plans his way as he journeys through life, but the Lord directs his steps and establishes them” (Proverbs 16:8-10 AMP).
“Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exult in your righteousness” (Psalm 89:15-16 NLT).
Prayer for You Today
Child of God, may you feel the Lord’s presence as you take the next step in your day today. And may He be your ever-present guide on life’s journey, making your progress steady toward the ultimate goal He has placed before you. Amen
