Holiday cheer no longer here.I search the path where you were near.
A heart of grief the wounds too deep. No longer the loved one once held dear.
Relentless pain, the broken heart beats. But sadness grows, the chasm deep.
The heart of grief sees no peace. Refusing solace, unable to speak. The loved one departed no companionship keeps.
Tears of grief that none can see. Only God to hear the silent plea.
His answer far. The journey long.
The waves of grief toss and sway. Emotions lurch and shake.
At times a bitter flounder. The next a weeping heap.
The sadness of the heart and mind, no remedy to find.
The empty space in the heart breathes a whispered prayer.
To the God who hears and keeps he loved one lost.
A kaleidoscope of memories dear un emptiness seem to keep you near.
My loved one now is in God’s keep and sees Him face to face.
And in my heart God too abides. Can we be closer than I think?
Faith rings with hope eternal. God’s promise to redeem.
That death no longer steals, the heart of joy and cheer.
Scripture for Today
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever” (Psalm 30:11-12 NKJV).
Prayer for Those Who Grieve
Beloved of God, may He hold you close in your long journey of grief. May you rest in His loving comfort and know that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Amen
