Training a grape vine

A new step in the right direction with Jesus can be daunting. The idea birthed in heart and mind, but all the particulars of getting from point A to B unknown.

Then all those questions arise and invite self-doubt that lead to fear. Such as Where do I begin or how can I ever accomplish this?

Followed by the what-if’s: What if it fails, or what if it isn’t really God? But just a euphoric thought?

The first step may be the hardest.

A new step of faith in the right direction requires prayer, and if you’re like me you might as God for clarification.

Then, after the first step the Holy Spirit comes and reaves another step in the process. In my experience, He may not reveal the entire plan at once, but only bits and pieces.

In the vineyard I used teak wood for my guide posts. The strong posts are secured to the guide wire. The vine is trimmed to one to three leaves at the top and rubber clasps used to secure the vine to the teak post. A straight trunk is the goal.

The goal in mind, fruit production. But first things first.

Vigilance during the training season is important. In one or two weeks the vine requires yet another rubber clasp and more trimming of new shots.

God, our master gardener never leaves the vine to venture off in a wayward direction. He is present and planning the next step in the growth process to accomplish the final goal.

God’s Whisper

My Beloved, come and abide. Trust me in the next step for the plans ahead. My divine will is certain and my ways are sure. My promise to you is to lead, guide and direct you as I did Moses in delivering the Children of Israel out of Egypt. Pray that my will be done on earth as it is in heaven concerning the plans I allude to you. Ask and you will receive. Praise Me and worship Me for the project we will complete. Pray for the souls we will reach. My will accomplished in their lives as well. Love, The Father.

Prayer for You Today

Beloved of God. My prayer for you today is that God’s perfect will to be done in your life. May God lead, guide and direct you in each detail of His will as you step out in faith. I pray for success as you reach souls with the excellent fruit of His divine provision. May His will unfold and accomplish His divine goal.

Scripture for Today

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT).
