Christ invites each earthly soul to come to Him. A divine invitation to turn from our sinful nature and share in His death and resurrection. Baptism symbolizes a watery death, and when we rise from the water we are raised into His life. Yes, a divine exchange. The investment of our life for his life.

We gain Christ, the ultimate prize. He is our righteousness. Christ in me the hope of glory. His glory exemplified in a life surrendered to his will.

As we come, we surrender all: our life.

We submit daily to the renewal of our mind. The goal to be like the Lover of our soul. Daily performing His divine will through his strength and joy. Our source of life itself as we abide.

His will is to daily take up our cross and follow him. The task may be simple for the day. Extending kindness or a smile. Offering a prayer. Intercession for America and those in need. Or is the path difficult today? Each requires faith and trust.

Inherent in the invitation to come, is the invitation to abide. Where else can we go?

As we live and move and have our being in Christ, we abide. We are his.

God’s Whisper

Come, my Beloved. Abide

My Beloved, you were bought with the precious blood of the lamb. You are priceless my beloved. You are mine, and I am yours. An eternal love. As you abide in the vine, you resemble the vine that holds you. Never to leave you nor forsake you.

Scripture for Today

“Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:34-38 NLT).
