In times of crisis when our minds can spiral out of emotional control we search for hope and security. In the world there is no security. Our spouse cannot give us the security we desire. The government cannot offer us personal peace.

Where should we go? Into the arms of the loving God who knew you when you were in the womb.

He offers a peace that passes all understanding as we cast each care at the foot of the cross.

The problem may come when we compulsively pick the issue back up.

My approach to that is asking God to help me to stop obsessing about the impossible situation confronting me. Otherwise worry begets yet another worry.

God’s response, to one of my crisis was especially comforting to me. My hope is that it comforts you as well. The response is also an excerpt from my book, Coping Skills for Caregivers.

God’s Whisper

As you come to the garden of My Presence, bankrupted and empty, know that I understand. You have no strength for your journey. Know that I AM your strength. You have no joy for your journey. Know that I AM your joy. Lift up your hands in praise. For what is and what lies ahead. You do not know which task to pursue and which to lay down. I will make straight your path. Take one step at a time. I AM the lamp unto your feet and the light unto your path. I AM your refreshment and your portion. Let your cup be filled to overflowing. I AM the Living

Water you desire to drink. Drink in refreshment and life. Let Me quench your thirst.

Cast all your cares on Me for I care for you. Do not be tempted to pick them up again. You are powerless to change them. I AM. I can take care of all of your needs and orchestrate what needs to be done in each instance. Come to the Garden of my presence. Rest in Me. Lay down your will and pray that My will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Then believe.                                                                                                                                      Love, The Father

Prayer for Today

Today we come to you out of desperation. Our hearts heavy with concern for loved ones, ourselves and the world. The pandemic and difficulties before us. Grant wisdom, grace and  peace to each leader, doctor, nurse, and essential worker. Provide divine guidance to each of us today.

Father, we thank you for each answer to each whispered prayer. Take special care of each patient affected by this virus. Bring healing to our nation spiritually and physically as we turn to you. Amen

Scripture for today

Yet the Lord will command His loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, a prayer to the God of my life.” (Psalm 42:8 AMPC).

“Hear my pleading and my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.” (Psalm 54:2 AMPC)
